I am an amateur photographer looking to build a small digital point and shoot. I live in the Bay of SF and there are tons of 35mm SLR cameras from Minolta and floating around the waist of about $ 100 or more on Craigslist. Currently I have decided that $ 400 + for a digital SLR a bit much.
I am in things like the Canon EOS Elan IIE interested, Minolta SR T SKII, Ikon Contaflex w / some Carl Zeiss lenses (OLD, ha, ha), a Nikon FG, Canon EOS Rebel GII, Nikon N80 ...

The list is endless. Here are my two questions ...

1. "An old 35mm SLR prices significantly better than a 7.2MP Cybershot?
2. There are many 12MP point-and-shoot there ... would be a good old 35mm SLR significantly better than these two?
3. Are there models that at a certain price, which should have in research?
